Letter From Pastor McMath
Dear Church Family:
As pastor of Valley Bible Baptist Church, I covet your prayers for guidance and wisdom. As you have heard recently in the news, President Donald Trump has set forth guidelines to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. One of the recommendations is to avoid social gatherings of more than 10 people. With these details set forth, I have had to make a difficult decision to postpone our 2020 Missions Conference to a later date not yet determined. The guidelines will also affect how we as a church will have to operate. For the next few weeks Valley Bible Baptist Church will not be holding regularly scheduled services at the church facilities.
We are working on getting messages in an online format via livestream at www.VBBC.church and/or utilizing applications on smart phones to stream the recorded messages. Messages will also be offered via Compact Disc (CD). Brother Estevan Montoya will be accessible to assist you with any technology you may need.
We are making adjustments as a church staff and are ready to serve you however needed during this challenging time. Do not hesitate to call us or email us. We will remain in contact with our church members through phone calls, emails or other preferable measures.
Event Calendar Cancellations:
- Regular church wide Visitation Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings
- Regular church services will be made available on line
- El Rito and Truchas Services will follow the on line procedures
Event Calendar Postponements:
- Missions Conference
- Lords Supper rescheduled to Tuesday, May 5
- Faith Bible Institute
- Valley Baptist Academy (Testing)
– It is important to remember that tithes and offerings as well as Faith Promise Giving continue.
Church staff will be available at the church to collect your offerings. Let’s remember that our
missionaries are dependent upon your faithfulness.
– If you fall into that most vulnerable age group (older than 70 or have underlying health issues)
and need help during the week with transportation or a supply run to the store, please do not
hesitate to call the church office.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
~ II Timothy 1:7 ~
Pastor, Brian McMath
PS: According to Romans 13:1-7, we are to be submissive to those that God has placed over us. These steps are not taken out of fear, but rather in a spirit of obedience to the request of our President. Please keep in mind these are only temporary adjustments. This too shall come to pass.
